- 6/30/2014: Updated different web pages of Victors.
- 5/27/2014: Dr. Shunzhou Deng joined Dr. Oliver He's laboratory as a visiting scholar. Dr. Deng is an associate professor in veterinary microbiology and immunology in the Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. Dr. Deng offered to annotate and add more virulence factor data of many pathogens with importance in the veterinary areas.
- 2012-2014: Continuous comminications and meetings among Oliver He, Allen Xiang (Victors database programmer), Dr. Luonan Chen, Lily, and Dr. Xing-Ming Zhao, on the bioinformatics analysis of the virulence factors data in the Victors database. Some significant results were obtained by June 2014. The results will be presented in the Victors database website.
- 9/28/2013: Oliver visited Dr. Luonan Chen's laboratory and presented a talk again. Oliver discussed with Drs. Luonan Chen, Dr. Xing-Ming Zhao, and Li Li (Lily) about the Victors bioinformatics data analysis results and planned for future work.
- 10/11/2012: Dr. Oliver He visited Dr. Luonan Chen's laboratory at the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Oliver presented his research on the Victors database development. An intent of collaboration was agreed between two groups. Dr. Chen's group would use their bioinformatics methods to systematically analyze the virulence factors data collected in the Victors database. Dr. Xing-Ming Zhao, a professor from Shanghai University, also attended the meeting and joined the collaborative effort on the bioinformatics data analysis of the Victors data. Ms. Li (Lily) Li, a PhD student in Dr. Chen's laboratory, would spend part of her PhD research time on this collaborative project.
- 2011-2012: Continuous Victors virulence factors' data submissions and updates.
- 10/2011: Oliver presented Victors in a conference. Sayers S, Yang B, Zhang S, Xiang Z, He Y. Victors: A Virulence Factor Database and Analysis System. The 18th Annual Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference, Oct 21-23, 2011, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- 1/21/2011: Victors Literature Mining and Curation System (Limix) was online and ready for manual data annotation and submission. Note that the Victors data curation system is similar to that used in the VIOLIN Limix vaccine database, which is well described in the VIOLIN Limix tutorial page.
