Molecule Role Annotation PGA13 encoding a GPI protein in Candida albicans, which is highly up-regulated during cell wall regeneration in protoplasts. Compared to the parental strain, the homozygous pga13Ãâ mutant processed shorter and irregular hyphae. All pga13Ãâ mutants (homo-, heterozygous and reintegrant) showed a sharply attenuated virulence in a mouse model. Above all, these results indicated that Pga13 is a determinant of C. albicans pathogenicity.(Gelis et al., 2012)
