MGF360

Victor ID 5069
Gene Name MGF360
NCBI Protein GI 210601
Molecule Role Annotation both MS16 and BA71V had significant deletions in the region containing members of multigene family 360 (MGF 360) and MGF530. Deletion of this same region from highly pathogenic ASFV isolate Pr4 significantly reduced viral growth in macrophage cell cultures. Given that macrophages are the primary target cells of ASFV in swine, it is likely that these genes are also of significance for viral pathogenesis and virulence in domestic swine. Future studies will examine this possibility . (Zsak et al., 2001)
