Molecule Role Annotation MUTATION: Compared to the wild-type strain, the ytfE (HI1677) mutant exhibited decreased survival when exposed to macrophages, a defect that was more pronounced after prior stimulation of macrophages with IFN-gamma or lipopolysaccharide. Complementation restored survival of the mutant to the level in the parental strain (Harrington et al., 2009).
