The 60 th Brucellosis Research Conference will be held December 1-2 at the Chicago Marriott, Downtown Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois. The meeting will begin Saturday at 8:00 am and conclude with the business meeting Sunday at noon. As a CRWAD satellite group, we benefit by being included in the larger group’s rates. Room Reservations:

Make your Chicago Marriott, Downtown Magnificent Mile, reservations prior to November 1, 2007 to receive the discounted CRWAD (Conference of Research Workers in Animal Disease) rate ($169 plus tax for single or double occupancy). Make sure you tell them you want the CRWAD RATE! Presentation and Abstract Submission:

The Program Committee will attempt to schedule all submitted presentations. Both oral and poster submissions are invited. The oral format will be informal, with a strict time limit of 15 minutes per presentation (12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions and discussion); PowerPoint presentations are preferred. Laptop computers will be needed on which to load the presentations. Backboards (4”H by 8’W) will be set up for the poster sessions (bring tacks, please). Depending on the number of talks submitted, the Committee may have to ask some researchers to consider the poster format rather than an oral presentation.

If you plan to discuss your current research or have a poster, the deadline for submitting a title to me is Wednesday, October 31, 2007 (indicate if you prefer an oral presentation or a poster ). My e-mail address is shagius@agcenter.lsu.edu. If you wish your abstract to be compiled for distribution at the meeting, an electronic copy should be submitted by the same date if at all possible. Please send it as a Word attachment (PC version) or as a .rtf file. Proposed meeting categories will be determined once titles/abstracts have been submitted.

Registration:

Registration for the meeting will begin at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007, in front of the meeting room, which has not yet been confirmed. Updates will be forthcoming. As soon as CRWAD lets us know, you will know. The registration fee will be $100 for PI and $75 for students (US$), payable by cash or check ( no credit cards).
